Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway
Friday, 1/30, 1:00pm – 5:00pm (bus leaves at 1:15pm from Marriot Uptown)
Price: $35.00 - Includes flight ticket
Note: Please dress appropriately as it will be very cold and possibly snowy at the mountain top.
Experience the breath-taking views as you ride the world’s longest aerial tramway. The flight takes about 15 minutes and is 2.7 miles to observation deck atop 10,378 foot Sandia Peak in the Cibola National Forest. As part of the tour we will get a "behind the scenes" 20 minute technical presentation of the mechanical room. Because of the difficult terrain, topographical engineering, foundation engineering, and studies of the geology were required to build the bi-cable double reversible aerial passenger tramway. The Tram is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Central New Mexico. At the mountain top, stop in at the High Finance Tavern for some hot cocoa.

Learn about the engineering aspects and chemical processing of wine making as we tour the Gruet Winery. Visit the tasting room to sample a selection of the award-winning sparkling and still wines. The Gruet family began selling wine in Albuquerque in 1989. In 2005, Gruet produced 80,000 cases of wine and distributed them to 47 states. They now produce seven different sparkling wines: Brut NV (non-vintage), Blanc de Noirs NV, Rosé NV, Demi Sec NV, vintage Blanc de Blancs, vintage Grand Rosé, and the vintage Gilbert Gruet Grande Reserve. They also produce two excellent Chardonnays and two Pinot Noirs, both with a regular bottling and an unfiltered barrel select reserve bottling.
